
The Cross
This is similar to the the Vital Seven spread, but includes fewer cards. This can make it a better spread to use if the reader needs more focus.
The Inquirer is placed at the centre, face up - the remaining cards will be placed face down. The cards are shuffled: the first is placed to the left of the Inquirer, the second below it, the third above, and the fourth to the right of it. The last card is placed on top of the Inquirer, at right angles to it.
The cards are then turned over in the order they were placed down. The card to the left of the Inquirer represents the influence of the past, the one to the right the future, the one below the unconscious and the one above conscious aspirations. The middle card, over the Inquirer, represents the key - this card is the last to be turned over, and should bring the whole reading together.
