Psycards were created by Nick Hobson some 25 years ago. He explains its beginning like this.
"At that time I had a stressful year and the idea for Psycards came to me in a dream. I was climbing a hill surrounded by swirling mists. When I reached the summit the sun came out and I saw beneath me the surrounding countryside with a patchwork of fields, copses, villages.
As the landscape made sense so I saw my life made sense. I saw the influence on me of those I loved, my health, my weaknesses, my background, my fears, my friends as if they were, as it were, cards on a table. It gave me a marvellous feeling of being in control of my life. I thought it might help others.
I was lucky to find a brilliant young illustrator called Maggie Kneen who drew the images."
